natural history (opossum), 2023
natural history (opossum), 2023, is a bronze sculpture conjoining my body to that of an opossum. This work is part of my thinking about the interdependence of human beings and animals. I found the fully intact mummified body of the opossum in an abandoned warehouse in New Jersey. At first I thought it was a possum. They are similar, but the opossum has a larger head and a hairless tail. While I now think it is an opossum, I am not totally certain.
