from the series: found birds, 2000 – the present
The series found birds began serendipitously when a sparrow fell dead at my feet on the sidewalk as I was walking home from the gym in Brooklyn. Unable to leave it lying there, I took it home with me. By the time I had been producing these images for a while, friends began contacting me when they found birds along the roadside. This portfolio was the result of such a find in upstate New York. The images were later shot in another friend’s barn.
